STRATEGY & FUNDAMENTALS

The WomenLead strategy is informed by 4 questions:

Who is the target?
What message will turn them out?
Where do we put our resources to deliver that message?
How are we building for the future and building sustainable infrastructure so we win and hold these seats?

In winning cycles, WomenLead has focused on:

Unregistered Voters Including returning citizens, college students, and members of immigrant communities

Newly Registered Voters Individuals who register to vote within the past two years. Given their short voting history, these individuals likely weren't targeted for voter outreach in the last midterm or Presidential.

Newly Engaged Voters People registered to vote but only voted for the first time in the last election cycle.

Messaging matters, and so does our approach.
We believe in producing culturally competent messaging that connects to local issues and builds trust with these communities. We utilize voter education to drive home the fundamentals of where, how, and when to vote, especially with the enactment of voting law reforms in New York State.

Each voter engagement project has a unique mix of voter contact well in advance of election season that includes:

Early voter registration efforts; Direct voter contact; Creative digital advertising; Direct mail; Radio; and TV—limited to where appropriate and as necessary.
